Mnml List

That reads “minimal” without the unnecessary letters. I am a minimal type person when it comes to owning stuff. That makes living in an RV easier for me than for most people. And it means I enjoy reading websites about simplicity and getting down to the necessities.

One of those websites challenged its readers to get their personal possessions down to 100 things. You don’t count items that are shared with other members of your household like dishes, furniture, and linens. You only count the things you consider truly yours. Here’s my list:

Line # Qty Item

3 6 long sleeve shirts: 3 Oxford, 2 purple pantsuit, 1 t-shirt
4 2 Polar fleece tops
5 1 sweatshirt
6 9 pair panties
7 9 bras
8 8 pair socks—I wore out 1 pair

10 5 pair shoes: Crocs, sandals, tennis, slippers, water walking

  1. I think you did fantastic! How in the world did you have “time” to count all those things? If I had to just count cables and connecters alone, I’d be over 100 I’m sure!

  2. I think we’ve been issued a challenge here. But I think I’m going to have to make my list of 400 things. 100 – I’ll never make it. I’ll let you know how I do.

  3. I agree with Wanderin’, you did fantastic! I know I have at least 35 T-shirts as I just packed them away a little bit ago plus there are probably 35 of the old vinyl LP albums in my bedside cabinet.

I also agreed with Sandie Dixon, it looks like a challenge. I know I reduced the number of shirt I bring along by a least half but I haven’t counted them.

Thanks much for the challenge. 😎

  4. Just caught back up with ya! Is it hot in the desert?

After snow birding in our Navion for four months, Allen and I are drowning in the stuff we always thought we could not live without here back home. SOOOOO, we’re downsizing. We’ve gotten rid of two corner cabinets and the dishes stacked therein, a Hoosier and the stuff stuffed inside. A table, two chairs, hundreds of CDs, 12 garbage bags full of magazines and sundry other throw-awayables. Three big bags of clothes have gone to Goodwill. And we’re still shedding stuff.

It is a very rewarding feeling to lighten our load.
