Old Thinking

Last night I wondered if we would be able to stay up until midnight this time to watch the ball drop.

Wait! When was the last time I went to bed as early as midnight?

Even Dave usually stays up until about then.

Which made me wonder what other old thinking is still happening in my brain that has nothing to do with who we are now.

Then I went back to reading my book which has everything to do with who I am now and who I’ve pretty much always been–a voracious reader who can get so caught up in a story that if it’s July but I’m reading about a blizzard I may go put on a sweater.

  1. We’re all on different time clocks. Some stay up late and get up late. Others get up early and rarely stay up late. I guess it even depends on what’s early and what’s late. Even that depends on who you talk to. Confusing, huh?

  2. the older I get the less regimented or habitual I am!
    it’s odd.
maybe I always wanted to be that free and because of working so many years when I HAD to go to bed and get up at a certain time… I did.
now if i’m not sleepy I just don’t go to bed.
one day last week I was in bed by 8:30!!!
    it’s weird.
    but wonderful too!
