I stayed up last night until 2 am reading other people’s blogs, comments, and replies. Then I woke up this morning wondering how many of my readers never comment because they think they won’t get an answer to any question they ask? So, I decided I better explain my system.
Every comment made on my blog comes to me as an email. And I answer every one. As an email. That often starts a discussion that may go back and forth several times.
Some of those discussions become very personal but many do not. The ones that do not could, obviously, be posted to the blog. But, I now generally answer those comments using my iPad and I have not figured out how to copy from my email and paste to my blog. So, it is very seldom that my answer to one person becomes an answer to many.
Is this the best system for my replies? Maybe. Maybe not. What do you think?
TTYL,
Linda
I’m still having trouble finding an e-mail address to reply to for a lot of people. So a lot of them never hear back from me. I usually don’t go back to an older post in someone’s blog to see if the OP has made any additional comments. And I don’t make comments on my own blog. But that’s just me.
I think we should all do what we are comfortable in doing or what we want to do…after all it is our own blog. I like seeing other comments on the blog and if I am interested in a subject, I may return for replies but for the most part I usually just read the ones ahead of mine and then move on.
I read a blog not long ago where the blogger was commenting on one she had read. Evidently the writer was complaining about all the people reading her blog. She felt if she wrote it, they should read and comment. Obviously, we know this isn’t the case. Most folks who read blogs just read them. They have no intention of commenting. It’s entertainment. I comment most times but not all times. It depends on what we’ve got going on and also the subject matter of the blog. I used to read more than I do now. I like to read what people are doing and what they’re seeing in their own words not from what they’ve copied elsewhere. In those cases, I rarely comment. I think answering a comment is nice but sometimes I’m busy at the time and then forget to do that.
As much as we try it’s not always possible to do everything right or everything everyone else expects us to do. You just need to do it for you and for your enjoyment. Then, if the subject interests others, that’s great too. If not, at least you know it was of interest to you.
Just do what you’re comfortable doing and don’t worry about it.
For copying and pasting, highlight the area you want copy, press the control key and C at the same time. This will load the information to be copied into memory. Go to the area or article you want to paste into and press control and V at the same time. This works with Widows XP. I hope this helps and please be careful on the road.

No. it is too inefficiant for me to take time for a single recepient. Nor is it fun to read an “unfinished symphony.”
Your ipad is starting to sound like an ipain. Hopefully that’s just learning curve?
