I’m now parked on another section of BLM land here near Quartzsite, Arizona. This is the third group I’ve camped with here in the last couple of weeks. I forgot to take pictures of the first group.
Here’s several views from my sliding door this morning:
If it seems to you that all those rigs look amazingly similar to one another you are right. This group is the Winnebago View/Navion group and as of campfire time last night there were 38 rigs parked here with this group. Those of you who have been reading this blog awhile know we used to own a View. It was built on the same Sprinter chassis as my new Sportsmobile is. So I bring my technical questions to this group. And even through my new rig is neither a View nor a Navion they welcome me. In fact I’ve been holding open house most of the time I’ve been here because everyone wants to see what I made fit inside my smaller rig.
So, another successful visit with another RV group of friends here at Q.
Even though I didn’t like their answer to my main question. 🙂
TTYL,
Linda
ps. I’ve been told my pictures are no longer clickable to increase their size. iPhoto did one of those “new, improved” things and I don’t know how to fix that yet. Sorry about that.
pps. One of the great things about being married to Dave is he figures out how to fix my technical problems. You should be able to click to enlarge the photos now. Thanks for your patience with this. And thanks to Nancy for telling us there was a problem in the first place.
You always seem to find the most interesting groups. Hope you have a fun time with them.
Aw, I’m so jealous now! I’ve attended the V-N rally at Q for the last 2 years, but am having to stay in Chicago this winter so could not make it this year. Hope you’re having a great time. If anyone can diagnose a Sprinter RV tech issue, it’d be Byron and the guys. Have a great time!
Linda,
You are so lucky being where you are. Today It’s mostly cloudy with snow showers. High of 10F with a windchill as low as -13F. Winds from the WNW at 10 to 15 mph.t
I’m so jealous, some day Jane and I will get out of this cold during the winter months.
MY TRIBE!! As a “new” View owner, I SO wanted to be there this year! But prior (pre-RV) commitments took precedence. Next year!
Thanks for posting the pictures, Linda, so at least I can live vicariously! Very interesting seeing them all there together. haha!
Sorry their answer wasn’t a happy one. But such a fun time for you to meet up with old and new friends. Sure glad you’re back with us now though. And yes the pictures are clickable.
I could click on those pictures too. It sure must be nice to have someone doing the techie work. You sure do get around but isn’t that the fun part?
at first glance that area doesn’t seem beautiful. but it brings back the most special memory to me of a week that my parents rented a little travel trailer once. only we were in the mountains of colorado. there is something about the freshness of the high desert air that is unlike anywhere else. i remember it as if it were yesterday. your area reminds me of it.
when they got us to bed at night they would sit with other people around a campfire outside our trailer.
i went to sleep hearing the laughter and visiting of my parents with those wonderful other campers.
heaven.
i see why you’re there.
ps
thanks for the pictures!
