In the Minneapolis area we usually have a few days in January where it gets warm enough for the snow piles to melt at least part way down. We call this the January thaw.
This year the January thaw came in February. The last two days were sunny with temperatures above freezing and most of the snow on our balcony disappeared.
Which, of course, led to this today:
Ah, the joys of living in Minnesota in the winter.
TTYL,
Linda
Oh dear…. I remember those sort of views too well. After a lifetime in WI, this is the first winter we’ve been away from the snow and it’s been a blessing. But with family still in Milwaukee we get to hear all the news and it’s been one tough winter. Our condolences. But, just think, just 2 or 2 1/2 more months and maybe all the snow will be gone. …. wait…. that’s not much of a consolation at all, is it?

I got a chill just looking at that photo. May Spring be with you soon.
ohhhhhh that makes me cold, Linda… hopefully ours has gone on … far far away … back to the north pole! Santa needs it…
At least you don’t have to go out in it. But by now it would be getting old. My daughter in Virginia has had enough too. They had so many snow days, my granddaughter didn’t get her presidents day holiday.
I would send you some warmth if I could. However, technology hasn’t advanced that much …. yet!
and yet… i still love that view. that tree. so beautiful. even through snow.
xo♥
bless you.
After all that cold, the 40° weather makes you want to throw on shorts and a tank top! Gotta love that weather.
Cheers,
Nick
It sure has been a harsh winter all over. It got up to 70 degrees here today and it looks as though we may see ice tomorrow. 🙁
