Today is October 20th. In Minnesota, snowbird season officially begins October 15th. That’s five days ago. And this is what it looks like outside today:
I think we may be in for a long winter.

98 here, I don’t want snow but I could enjoy just a little cooler weather to give my air conditioner a break.
snow like that always makes me think of my brother when he was small and we lived for a few years in northern Minnesota. he had been used to being kept home from closed schools when it snowed!
and he didn’t understand why he still had to go to school. he was sure it would melt (as it did usually) before he could play in it! we never got it all that often. LOL.
Daddy said… “it’s going to be here when you get home old man. it’s going to be around for the rest of the winter!” LOL! and sure enough. when we moved from there 4 years later it was still icy and snowbound in April of that year.
I love snow. but I don’t miss that much of it!
that looks wintry and a little on the cold side…it doesn’t snow where I live in New Zealand…but it does do fogs and frosts not always just in winter time. This year seems to have been milder during winter. Although some parts of the SI have had snow breaks during the spring as well as fairly good snow during wintertime.
