“If I were you…” is never true. It might be true if you said, “If I was in your situation…” Or it might be true if you said, “If you were me…” But, “If I were you…” is never true. Because, if I were you I would do what you did.

Oh that saying is bandied around a lot of time…usually it’s when someone is suggesting that there is a better way to do something.
