Dave took this picture out our window today. The pond is so shallow, deer are wading in it. Click to enlarge it.
I wish the water was as clear as it used to be. The more houses they build the more green the water gets as people “treat” their lawns, thus destroying the nature this land was dedicated to preserve. I suspect the people living in the houses up the hill on the other side of the trees don’t see the damage they are doing. At least, I hope they don’t see it rather than they are just ignoring the results of their activities.

Linda, if you hadn’t said it was “a pond” I wouldn’t have grasped it because of the deer wandering about. I suspect the people moved to the land because it was deemed a green belt, where life would be so much better…ummm. Catherine in NZ where green space is being turned into lots of houses in my big city, with the council siting that it’s the expense to upkeep said spaces.
Wow. The pond does not look like a pond. But the deer are beautiful. AZ fish and game are hauling water out to the desert for the wildlife because they are dying. This drought out here is really getting scary.
