Tech neck

Tech neck is the name of a condition caused by holding the head forward and tilted down as we stare at our phones and tablets until holding the head upright becomes challenging.

As I settled in to crocheting this afternoon I realized I was holding my head in that precise position. As one does when doing any type of needlework.

Such as the embroidery and needlepoint women have been encouraged to do for hours every day for centuries.

I now wonder if that was actually the source of the condition known as a dowager’s hump?

  1. I never thought about all the sewing and etc those women did but I bet you’re right. I certainly don’t have to worry about the hump from sewing ir crocheting or knitting or any of that stuff. But my phone and computer are another story. Esoecially jigsaw puzzles. 😁

  2. another thing to worry about! LOL. and you’re Right!
