Says who?

When that inner voice says I can’t do that or should not want that or any other negative thought I need to learn to respond, “Says who?”

Who taught me that?

Under what circumstances?

Does that fit me for who I am now?

Does that fit me for who I want to be?

Says who?

  1. I almost never have negative thoughts like that. When I was in my mid-20s I noticed I was critical of myself but understanding about other people and decided that was dumb. Be as nice to myself as I was to them. I still remember going into the bathroom at work and promising myself I was going to be supportive of myself and it was all right to make mistakes, focus on learning from them. It was a life changing experience, and I’m grateful.
