Homeowner Rule #1

I don’t know how many of you get Crankshaft in your Sunday comics but his message a few weeks ago spoke to me.

“If you can’t find it, you don’t own it.”

To facilitate finding things we own I have learned not to ask about new items, “Where should I put this?”

Now I ask, “Where would I look for this?”

It’s so much easier to find seldom used things now.

Linda

  1. I think about that when I put things away. Mostly I can find things even though I have a lot of junk that might be useful.

  2. I’m trying really hard to think logically when I put something away but I’m not doing very good at it. Dies practice make perfect?

  3. LOL!
I’ve spent about 3 days this past week in organizing my entire little apartment and getting rid of things.
organization is the key for me. I have papers to tackle next. and that’s what I dislike the most!
going to just shred a little at a time. remember when we didn’t worry about our IDENTITY being stolen?!!!
that still feels weird to me!

  4. I knew this morning I still had 1/2 of a nice paper for at least one of the page spread in a book…I turned the place upside down – and then found it – upside down so what I thought was blank scrap paper had the nice print on the other side!
Memo to self: when putting paper away – have pattern side up!
