Fourteen people at the table for dinner. The meal is over. The table is about half cleared. Then:
Those still at the table stare intently at cell phones.

People are greatly upset that Russia might have interfered in our last presidential election! How dare they mess with our government?!
Yet, we feel justified in interfering in many other country’s governments. And have as long as I can remember.
The only country that has attacked us since our revolution against Great Britain is Japan. How do we justify going to war in so many other countries?
Yes, there was 9/11. But that was not a country attacking us. That was people unhappy at us interfering in their religion. This from a country that says it believes in freedom of religion.
How can this be right?
TTYL,
Linda
Thud.
That’s my weight loss hitting a wall.
I cannot do zero carb.
Because I have a lousy sense of smell the texture of food is important to me.
So is variety.
And when you are eating only meats and fats there is no variety of textures.
So, last night I found myself eating my cheese on crackers.
And today I will be having fruit with my hamburger.
So I guess I’m a failure at the zero carb way of eating.
Now what?
TTYL,
Linda
It’s working. I’m not following it perfectly. I’m still drinking diet sodas and having nuts once a day. I tried having macadamia nuts but they left me hungry so I switched back to the cashews I was eating before–one small handful each evening. Cashews have more carbs than macadamias but they also appear to have more fat. And fat helps offset the effects of carbs. Anyway, the cashews don’t make me hungry and they satisfy my salty/crunchy cravings.
And in five days I have lost four pounds.
I like that!
TTYL,
Linda
ps. I should add that my results are probably not normal. Because I had already been eating low-carb I suspect my body adapted more quickly than most.
