That’s me.
No, I didn’t suddenly get skinny.
My doctor measured my height the other day. I am 1/2″ shorter than I was last year.
Then she sent me to physical therapy for my lower back pain.
The therapist says it might be arthritis in my spine.
When the arthritis in my knees got too painful, I had them replaced with titanium ones.
I don’t think they do spine replacements; do they?

Linda
No spine replacement, but I do back strengthening exercises. It really, really helps.
Me too. Shrinking that is. And the weight isn’t shrinking with it so it’s really a sad situation. But I’m lucky so far with back and knee and hip stuff. If we ever resolve the couch issue in the Bungalow I’ll be good to go.
Ed has arthritis in his lower back also. He went to a physical therapist. But you actually have to DO them. Which he doesn’t so he has found that Salon Pas works to help relieve some of the pain.
Not yet they don’t. There’s nothing to be done about bone reabsorption, of course. But PT exercises should help if you do them regularly.
They say Walmart sells everything. Have you checked with them to see if they sell spines? 🙂
Sorry, that doesn’t sound like a good thing at all and have no ideas on anything that could help.
my height loss has been since i stopped doing yoga. i lost almost two years because of the throat tumor then surgery then the silly blood clot. lordy. what a mess. nothing like a litany of illness.
but i do believe that gentle stretching is definitely a help. now that i can do it again i’m going to resume.
it helps with any pain too. a nice benefit.
LOL.
i just proofed this for typos. it looks like i lost two years in height. LOLOL.
I’m shrinking too! I don’t have arthritis (at least not that I know of – definitely have brain damage from 5 car accidents, but that only shrank my short term memory, not my height) Anyway – just started yoga and no word yet if it’s halted my shriveling height, but man do I feel better 🙂
The timing is so perfect, it must have been planned:

Let us know if the PT works, and what you have to do.
Pam has gone from 5-6 to 5-3.
