We got shot

We received our first injections of the Moderna vaccine for Covid-19 yesterday. No side effects except for tender arms. Second injection due Feb 11th. I am so glad we live in this complex where our county health department sent nurses to do the injections since most of our residents are a lot older than Dave and me. It is weird being the youngsters in a group at age 73, though.

  1. I’m happy for you both too!
ours in this state seems to be in rather a mess.
other than the University students and all the staff that have been already fully vaccinated…
the rest of the state is going by counties or something. it’s very confusing.
there is no appointment available within over 150 mile radius of us. but at least the marine and I are registered whenever it can happen. you register for it online on a form! (what old folks do without computers? I don’t know!)
so… just keeping watch and hoping for the best! 🙂

  2. that’s great news on the shots …. I think a tender arm, is quite on the cards, a normal flu’ jab often heralds that.

New Zealand hasn’t got the program started yet, apparently we had to ship a huge lot of big freezers, but anyway as we have no community transmission – the front line workers at the airport and the managed quarantine facilities are to be the first to get it. They in a way have the opportunity to spread it out in the community, not that there has been much, a pocket that was ringfenced so quickly it hardly caused more than one newscast.

    take care…be well

  3. Glad you got the shot. I have an appointment for Jim on the 26th. Its a mess out here with no appointments and the website crashing constantly. I qualify next week but there’s nothing available. But fingers are crossed.
