Decluttering my mind

Kids think all adults are all powerful. So we take messages they give us and make those messages all powerful. We even magnify them. And we keep them in our minds forever–judging ourselves by them.

It’s been a long time since I was a kid. I think it’s time to declutter my mind and get rid of some of those messages that no longer fit me today.

If they ever did.

But, I plan to keep the one that says that reading is good.

Linda

  1. yes! I’m also aware of those messages. and it has only taken me 74 years to rid myself
of many of them! they were so much a part of me that they were almost subliminal!
whole belief systems that I finally began separating from what I truly believed in today’s climate and world.
I truly had wonderful parents. I was lucky in that respect. but even wonderful parents have a way of instilling their OWN beliefs in their children.
oh. and I agree… READING is a superb one! 🙂
